Does anyone have a photo or info on the 328's brake sensor wire. I would like to know how it goes in the pad. If changing brake pads is the wire reusable or do you need to put a new one one (both fronts and both back???). If you need to replace it where do you get them.

    Thanks

    Dave

The wire is a wear sensor and is not normally reusable. The only source for pads with the sensor is the dealer. Expect to pay big bucks for OE pads, over $300. The sensor is normally open and many folks use aftermarket pads and do not bother with the sensor.

I suppose I could drill teh pad and put the wire in then silicone it in at the top.

You don't need a sensor. Save your money and buy good aftermarket pads and just check them out visually now and then. $300+ is crazyass stupid for a cute add on toy wire that you can live without.

that would work. It's just a bare wire in a sleeve. When the pad wears enough for the rotor to wear/melt away the sleeve, the wire touches the rotor and provides a ground path to the dashboard light.

I installed porterfield pads, and didn't bother with the wire either.
