Not a good day. My 328 was broken into as well as my Lexus daily driver. The 328 driver's window is shattered and the interior got messed up pretty bad.....radio stolen and dash ripped out in center, center console glove box broken into, etc. There is a little damage to the paint too. My new Alpine was stolen. Actually 5 cars were broken into including my neighbor's Rolls Royce. Apparently a key fob was stolen to our building's garage. Fingerprints were taken from my car and with some luck we might find them.

Any idea how difficult it will be to get a new window?

Like I said, not a good day!

Sorry to hear that, that sucks. I know the feeling. A window should not be too hard to find. I hope they catch the bastardo.

Even if they do catch him, they won't do much. They should just shoot people like that. Most of the time its under aged idiots. I feel for you.

I agree usually kids who want the radio, little heathens need to be sent to Iraq to help fight on the front line---maybe learn some respect for others

Sorry to hear mate. :( Im sure you feel violated. Bastards like that need to be taught a serious lesson in respect for other people's property. Maybe you can try Daniel at Ricambi to help you find a window for your 328. Good luck. :)

I was flipping channels last night and ran across a replay of some massive political correctness on one of the DisLearning channels: World's Worst Drivers 2.

As an "example" of how speed is such a bad thing, they showed a driver in "a stolen porsch"(sic) being chased by police and clipping a stationary truck while weaving in and out of traffic.

Their comment went something like "for reckless speeding this driver got nine months in jail".

I'm thinking: nine months for speeding, and nothing for grand theft auto?
Is stealing a sports car a public service, now?

Why are cars suddenly "bad things"? Is having the skill to handle performance driving antisocial behaviour, compared to weaving across three lanes while gabbing on the cell phone?

"Competence is Elitist"? "Freedom is slavery, ketchup is a vegitable"?

I've often said the way to end (at least slow) computer viruses is to put a couple of virus makers on national TV and shoot them in the head...they should do that for theives as well.

What is hard to understand is the fact that they don't get much money for the radios they steal even when they can find a buyer or a stolen goods "fence." Many are damaged in removal. Most of these punks are Hammer and Tongs Delinquents who usually damage the car and butcher the console. Perhaps the City High Schools could start shop classes on the proper way to break-into and remove parts from a victim's car without causing any collateral damage. Maybe even can get the Insurance Companies to subsidize it. I know it sounds ridiculous, but nothing makes sense anymore when it comes to property theft.

My BMW 3 coupe was broken into a couple of years back - window smashed, seat leather torn/scraped, glovebox emptied. The brilliant thieves got away with: A BMW owner's manual, my insurance and registration card. The glass was the easiest part of it. Getting the seat redone wasn't - the leather never matched the driver's seat and insurance only covered the damage on the passenger (break-in) side.

I just bought a driver side from Lyle Tanner. I believe T. Rutland has one in stock as well.

The police fingerprinted my car and another that was broken into and there are leads and I am told the thieves will be vaught. soon. Apparently a remote was stolen for the garage and the whole thing was planned. The window is $750 for the part alone!! I am too busy at work to mess with it so I am only working on getting my other vehicle fixed and will get 328 done in a few weeks.

Breaking into a car to steal a radio can only be the work of stupid kids. A top of the line mp3-playing cd/radio these days is under $200. Who the hell would bother stealing one?

I'm sorry to hear that this happened to you. If they catch the little bastards, you can extract some payback hopefully, such as making the kid PAY for the Ferrari window he broke. Wait until the little prick finds out how many lawns he has to mow to pay for that!
