so if i was to re-torque the head, and use new cam cover gaskets would i also need to remove the cams and replace the oring that runs in the groove of cam cover or is that the bearing seal. if a bearing seal is not leaking, then i see no need to replace it. tanks!

Your in there now, dont cut corners with labor you will regret later. They can start leaking pretty good on thier own even when put together correctly, so chances are against you that once disturbed those seals wont start leaking. Also, if you torque the head down you MUST replace the cam belts as the tension will slacken from the heads being pulled down lower. It may not seem much, but its magnified by the two cam sprockets and the angles of the belt around the tensioner by over 3:1. Not impossible you could squish the heads down .010 inch (or more) during retorque, which could put over .030 inch addition slack into the belt.

If your upset at the rediculous parts costs for new oil seals, take one up to NAPA or equivalent and match them up. They can supply one of equal quality for a small fraction of the cost at the dealer.

Those cam seal housing o-rings take a set and get hard fairly fast. Replace the o-ring, seal, & since you will have pulled the cams, the cam belt must be changed, & replace the belt tensioner to do the complete job.
