    All,

hope is something stupid I'm overlooking.
After driving back home I turn off the engine, get off the car, shut the doors and lock it. The key won't turn to the right and the doors won't lock.

I noticed that if I turn the car on and try to lock the doors, the system makes some noise but refuses to lock, I guess the two problems are related.

What could be the problem ? I make sure everything is turned off and doors are properly shut. Any idea ?

    Thanks!

Door lock accumulator could be stuck. Can you lock the passenger side with the key?

I have the same problem, yet I can sometimes lock them using the passenger door. But only sometimes.

Try to lubricate your door latch. Mine use to be fussy and after lub it was easy.

Related problem, my power locks work when they want to. Usually not. The car is small enough that it's no big deal to reach across and lock the passenger door, but it's nice when the power locks work the way they're supposed to.

    Thoughts?

Ferrari hired a "Rube Goldberg" to design the lock and actuator system :) that's the problem!

Oh well, went to sleep and today went for a few rides around town and I was able to lock the doors just fine. Thanks anyways to those who tried to help. It had never happened before.

    Have a good day.

Mine would fail to lock upon occasion as described. Furthermore, I would have to slam the door fairly smartly when the weather was warm to get the locking mechanism to work. The way I fixed mine was to adjust the female part that bolts to the car body so the door does not have to be pushed inward so far. I loosened the bolts and moved each outward a smidge. My doors were so tight that the window panes were wearing the weather stripping near the top rear part of the windows when the window rolled down. Moving the catch solved both issues.

It really isn't the best idea to lock the doors on these cars anyway in my opinion. Convertibles especially.

The door lock actuator on the passenger side of my QV was broken when I bought the car in 1997. I just never bothered to fix it.

The point is, if you do drive the car you need to lock it from time to time.... also from an insurance standpoint....
