Basic research shows these parts are unobtainium. I have a source who may be able to have these manufactured but I need a sample to send him so he can take exact measurements. Does anybody have a broken or discarded vent laying around? The part number is 61738800. If you do please PM me.

Mine is still in my car! I'll happily send it in November, if I can have it back by next May ;)

I'll call and ask Bill Pollard if he has one, if you like. Just PM me.

I blew all of mine out the door to f-chatters. All I have left is a trim ring. You can have this if needed.

Always getting new stuff in though...

Sorry Duane I missed your post... I had a broken one is all. Jim400i set me up
with a new one (looked for 2 years!) a few months back.

If it can be made for a reasonable cost, this is a part that I'm sure a lot of
Ferrari owners could use. I believe Tillman was looking for one as well... no
idea if he ever found it.

I bought all he had. I am researching having these made, first through a source in Italy and if that falls through I will send one to Verell. So right now I need what I have but should I end up with a remanufactured vent or an extra I will post it here.

Thanks, Duane: please keep us in the loop. If your source needs pre-orders or deposits to make it happen, I'm in (and more than a few others, I suspect.)

Call and ask if they have these and see what they say to you. When I did it a month ago the response started with about 30 seconds of laughter.

Sorry, I guess I shouldn't believe everything I see. Yet, every time I ordered online things listed on the website they came in the mail. Everything I called about they were out of. Wierd?

I have a NOS one that Ricambi sent me awhile ago. Just took a look at it this AM after receiving eMAIL from GatorFL.

I see no problem in reproducing them other than time to make the necessary molds.

I'm wondering what usually gets broken on these. Suspicion is it's the little linking bar that connects the 2 louvers together. If that's the case, I could supply it as a much lower cost repair solution than a new assembly with reproductions of all 4 pieces.

I might even be able to supply an 'unbreakable' link bar made of metal, but haven't really researched what would be required.

On mine, it's the little tabs that the louvers pivot on that have failed.

You're quite right: on the 308 the upper and lower vents are interchangable. Different vent on the 328; folds completely flat to the dash. No raised, beveled ring.

That said, I wonder if 308 vents will work in a 328, even if they don't look 100% original?

Wish I could take credit but truth be told Paul just turned me on to the ebay stuff. There is a thread on window switches that I found out about this stuff. But hell I find the search for gold almost as much fun as the treasure itself. Best of luck.
It is odd that they list the 328,308 and 288 all having the same. Not sure about bevel etc. though.

Yeah, they actually look quite a bit different when you see them side by side.

Dimensionally, looks like that Euramtec vent just might work. Did you order one? If not, i'll take one for the team and get some.
