During storage this winter, my 328 GTS car has developed a couple tiny dents in the top of the built in rollbar (I don't know what that section of the roof is called). I have had great luck with "dentless" repairs on my other cars. Has anybody removed the interior headliner from that portion of a GTS car? How does it come out? Is it glued in place? Once out, can a dentless repair guy get in that area with his tools? Any suggestions?

Since it's dented already, my advice would be to find a swimsuit/nude model and have her pose while seated there for a few fun snapshots.

Then get the dents fixed. :)

No problem...they will pry down on the forward edge of the headliner to stick the tool in there. Been there, done that. Turned out fine.

Those dents are usually caused from using your elbows up there for leverage to get the roof on & off. Not sure if PDR can get to them... although Dave says they can.

I like Jimpo's suggestion. Pls post pics.

I had several dents after falling on this area trying to get a few snap shots. (Don't ask).

Take out the third brake light and two small covered pieces on either side. Both rear quarter glass comes out just by pushing. Use one hand on either side to remove. Pop rivets drill out. Now the PDR guy has full access. Mine was 5 hrs and $300. You can not tell there was ever any damage!

Re-pop rivet your head liner into place. Leave rubber gasket on glass. Use cotton clothes-line rope (3/8" ?) around inside of gasket and make noose. Lube w/ WD-40 or the like. Loose end of rope inside of car. Now pull slowly using pressure on outside of glass with palm of your hand. It may take one practice session after that it's very easy. Re-install the rest of your pieces and your done!

I may have left some detail out. Most of it is pretty straight forward.

    Good Luck!
