They are hard to come by, try Ferr Parts 916 974 1939

I made sure I stocked up on a few sets over the last decade, they do break.

There is a calibration mentioned in Service Bulletin 80-36. Maybe you could try that?

    Thanks

My mechanic said the switch is shot - he tried adjusting the potentiometers and it didn't work.

I should have delt with this years ago when the problem started and replacements were available.

When I bought my '89 328 GTS a couple of years ago, I had concerns about the centre console switches and possible failures, especially the digital HVAC switches (my switches all work, but you never know if or when they might fail).

I looked into buying spare (used) switches, just in case, but ended up buying an entire centre console, complete with all of the switches.

People though I was a bit nuts buying an centre console that I didn't really need, that cost me £600.

I then pointed out to them that the HVAC digital switches would cost £1300 each for used switches, or £2000 each for new ones (except you couldn't get new ones), and that to buy all of the switches individually that came with the centre console would cost @ £7000 for used switches, and @ £9000 for new switches (if you could get them - Which for a lot of them, you couldn't).

Suddenly, my £600 investment didn't seem so crazy to them after all! :)

Try O.D.D. Parts in Sonoma CA and see if they'll fix it.
