Hi Alberto, thanks for your posts on the 208 intercooler, very hard to find any kind of reviews of the car. I did listen to a you tube video where a ferrari employee compared the feeling to drive the 208 GBT intercooler with the f40 (albeit much slower) have you ever driven an F40 to compare the two? i guess it's the closest to the driving experience ou can get to an F40 without stepping into an 288!!?? love to hear your thoughts. I'm based in the UK and I have been considering buying a 208 GTB turbo intercooler for some time but not yet taken the plunge. any particular to look out for on these?

hi Greg, you don't have to compare the GTB/GTS turbo with the F40, that has almost twice the power. You have to compare it with the 328, an almost twin brother. The power output curve is similar to the 288 one, but lower. There is the same turbo kick above 3000 rpm, but less powerful, of course. As power output you have to think about a two third of a 288.

The best source to learn more about those two liters turbo cars (maybe) is my book, the only one that talks about all the Ferrari turbo cars

    ciao

I’ve find this old thread and I hope it’s possible to get an answer.
I’m considering to give some extras hp to my GTS turbo at next service.
I’ve asked to a few mechanics and they confirmed that engine can arrive near to 300 hp with some small operations and in full reliability.
They both told me it must be done some adjustment on turbocharger/wastegate and on the injection system.
IHI turbo and Intercooler are fine, no need to change with bigger ones.
    You agree?

That's correct: who is your mechanic?

In my opinion "328" turbo engine does not require any extra power as it already has more than enough, but I agree that having more power is always a very exciting thing.

Please keep us posted and let's know all the process and results

I go to Marrocco Motorsport, who is a Porsche specialist and make services to my 911. But he knows very well classic Ferrari engines, so he have in manteinance also my GTS Turbo.
But I talked also with Leone Motorsport who told me the same things and I know is a great Ferrari specialist, so I’m considering to make this work with him.
    I’ll keep you updated!

So, finally I did it (together with belt service).
The car now is really a little monster.
    Impressive boost after 4/5000 rpm.
Turbo gauges arrives near 1.2 (I would say 1.15) and, most important thing, warning light never switch on. It means job has been done well, without exagerating.
    Ciao!
