-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- When I started my car to move it today , a bunch of mouse nest material flew out of the driver's side tailpipe. I found some holes chewed in my Block-IT car cover (soft indoor only cover). Lots of that material in with the nest stuff! Anyway, I have never had this problem before and have only had the car about 2 years. As I let the car idle before pulling it out of the garage, I placed my hand near the outlet of both sides of the exhaust. The air pressure of exhaust coming out of the passenger side was very stong and clear. The pressure on the driver's (mouse) side was weak and kinda smokey. Smoke could be from sitting for the past few months? Is there normally a big difference in the exhaust pressure from one side to the other on a 328? Is this likely mouse related? If so, what should I do? Under the rear deck everything looked fine. Any suggestions? Car seemed to run fine for the few minutes I had it running. No idiot lights or anything out of the ordinary.
Normal, to an extent. I guess it depends on how smoky and how much of a difference. A disparity in pressure (on startup) from one side to the other is normal, I'm told.
The difference in output and steam in the US exhaust system is normal. Do not continue to allow mice to inhabit your garage. They love to eat rubber and plastic. Rubber door and window seals as well as wire insulation are favorites on their menu. Place traps before you need very expensive repairs.
