I am trying to diagnose a coolant leak that only occurs after I have run the car on the highway for a while. Seems that the car has to be well warmed up before the leak occurs.

It is not the WP (already replaced that) and it does not come from the overflow at the radiator cap or a hole in the aluminum down pipe by the WP. I have bled the radiator and block many times following accepted procedure.

From a search of the archives it might be a leak from where the hose on the front side of the expansion tank goes into a fitting on the block which I cannot seem to get to. Another thread says pull the plenum while another thread says pull the left rear wheel and shroud which doea not appear correct. Can someone answer the following questions.

    1. What is the hose for?

    2. Does it direct coolant into or out of the expansion tank?

    3. How do I get to the fitting on the block?

    Thanks for the help.

    Hi
I had to replace this pipe along with the spigot which screws into the the casting which connects the 2 cylinder banks. I decided to remove the whole inlet manifold (couldn't figure how to just remove the plenum) to get access as I need to remove the casting which the spigot screws into and had the remains of the old one machined out.

I think if its just the hose you can remove the oil filter + oil breather pipes in that area you can slide your hand in under the plenum and if your lucky the jubilee clip can be got at from the front between the inlet manifold pipes with a flexible driver.
