I know the 328 is an overall improvement on the 308 but this seemed a little over the top. I found this one with very low mileage but offered at $73,000, seems a tad much to me. Is this the going market value for a 328 wit such low mileage? No mention of a service either. What do you guys think?

without even looking at it, seems like a good price, maybe on the low side.

You might laugh at me but I spent $53,500 on a 1987 GTS with 14,000 miles and a full service history. If this one was properly maintained then I think $60,000 to $65,000 is about right. I'm by no means an expert so I might be completely wrong.

What a crappy way to list what might be an exceptional example. But, being a 328 owner, higher the better!

Interesting to see how this car sale does.

The presentation is second rate, pictures, staging and introduction. Showing no detail and shot in raw sunlight. You think they could have done better.

    Maybe for a Euro GTB.

I know euro GTBs are as rare as hen's teeth in North America, but an absolute pristine low miles "B" over here today would fetch about 50.000 euros maximum...which would translate as about 65.000 dollars.
328 prices are not increasing, but they hold very well (except in Italy, where, due to the recent mesures against sports cars, prices are plummeting down; so the latest craze is going to buy your Ferrari in Italy...)

Low mileage 328s, particularly those with under 10,000 miles often sell at a premium. Its the closest someone can get to experiencing the car as it would have been when new. There are many 328s with 25,000 to 40,000 and those cars will be significantly less expensive. I currently own a low mileage 328 and if something happened to it, I'd search for another low mileage 328 and expect to pay a premium for it.

I have already mentioned it, but chassis 82112, a GTB, sold in 2010 in Paris almost brand new: 90 miles (= 150 kms) on the odo; never registered. I don't know for how much.
A yellow over black leather '89 GTS with 800 miles (1340 kms) was for sale last year.

Compared to these, my GTS with 19.000 kms (12.000 miles) when I bought it 18 months ago was high mileage...

All 3x8 prices are on the rise, and as the economy recovers, good cars will sell at a premium.

Low mileage 89s have been selling in the 60s since the late 90s. This example also has a very high vin# which may matter to some people.

    Dave

PS: I have a 89 GTB w/10K miles for sale though not very actively.

    Hi Dave,

Selling a "B" should be a difficult decision to take...I bought my "B" first, an april '89 car, then the "S", a late february '89 car, with the perspective on making my mind on which one to keep. For the time being, I still have both...and will probably keep both as long as possible; but still, as already told, the "B" is definitely the best of the two from a driver's perpective. And besides, something tells me that you must have some nice roads to drive in Colorado...

    Best,

+1. I think they're underpriced. Look at the A-H 3000s. Sort of nice cars but nothing special yet look at what they're fetching. Incredible.

A 23 to 26 year old 328GTB/GTS with 25,000 miles should not be considered high milage, after all that's only about one thousand miles per year!

I think if more people actually got to drive a B and see how much better it is, they would be more popular. But they are quite rare in the US. Many never see one, let alone drive one. I've had two for a total of 10+ years. I also have a 430 and Porsche Cayman S. We do have great roads in Colorado but circumstances have reduced my overall driving and the 328 is now getting little use. So, I'll sell it hopefully to someone who deserves it.

I agree. I have a feeling that it looks much, much better in person, and for the price (which isn't necessarily bloated for a 328 with 6,200 miles) it could use better staging.

My local dealer, which is first rate, isn't photographically savvy either. It tells a poor story to the virtual window shopper, but their autos are always excellent in the showroom.

Based on recent sales, this price might be on the high side, but I think it's reasonable.

I couldn't agree with you more. A GTB is just so much of a better car, with a very rigid chassis. A true drivers car, if you will. Although the removable roof is nice...the handling trade off is noticeable.

For $73k you can buy a nice 512TR.

328 is nice but 512TR is MUCH more car

Looks like the seller is Miller Motorcars, a Ferrari dealer. For a collector looking a time warp car, the money would probably be no object. Plus it's a red '89 GTS, which is considered the blue chip investment of the series.

The obvious problem is that if you drive it then the value falls off pretty quickly.

I'd predict that the next owner(s) won't drive it, and eventually it will need an engine rebuild with a very low odometer reading.

Has anyone actually posted the skidpad numbers for these cars?

I would be surprised if either of them outhandled a Porsche 944.
