I was hoping someone could show me a picture of which cylinder each line is feeding from the metering device. I've looked in teh owners manual and searched this site, but can't find a labeled picture or description of which pipe is which. And no, I can't trace them on the car, as it's all disassembled and I'm trying to put them BACK on in the correct order. another instance of not taking enoigh pictures. Sorry.

    Thanks!

Not quite sure what I need to shoot but if you tell me (e.g. 'just shoot the engine block from the rear', etc) I can go down and snap some shots. I.E. I dont know what the metering device is but I know how to cover the cylinders :D !

You must be talking about the Metal fuel lines from the CIS Fuel Distrutor to the individual injectors, right?

Yep, I need to know what cylinder each port on the fuel distributor is running to. A picture may help, but the black lines all bunch together so it can be easy to lose track of them. I'm hoping someone can label a picture with the cylinder number for each line like this:

I think once you get one, the rest should be in firing order, right?

Not necessarily. This is Continuous Injection, not timed. All the injectors are squirting all the time, so it doesn't really matter which goes where. It's more a matter of getting all the hoses the right length. I'm going to go out and look at mine, so stay tuned.. -Steve

OK, here's the answer. Ferrari numbers their cylinders starting with #1 at the passenger side rear cylinder. Immediately next to #1 is #2, then #3 and #4. Next go to the dirver's side front, which is #5. Number 6 is to the right of #5, then #7 and #8. So #8 is across from #1. Just wanted to be really clear here.

Now, on the fuel distributor, as you are looking at the engine from the back, start at the 3:00 o'clock position, which is between two pipes. Starting at the 3:30 position and going clockwise, the cylinders are numbered: 1,2,3,4,8,7,5,6. If I were clever, I'd do a diagram, but I hope this is clear enough. BTW, there is a bracket underneath and just forward of the CSI that holds the four FI lines. Top to bottom, they are #5,6,7,8.

Just want to be sure before I press these lines on for the SECOND time. On the front group of lines, you sure the order is 8, 7, 5, then 6, not 8, 7, 6 then 5? I just makes more since if they stayed in numerical order like they do for the rear bank, which went 1,2,3,4. Just checking to be safe!

Thanks again for this post, it has been invaluable.

    DMaury,

I don't have time this morning, Mother's day activities, but if nobody has verified the above post before I get home this afternoon I'll diagram my setup for you.

Actually, I just verified it myself. I happened to have a new line for cylinder number 5, and it is indeed the second to last, and not the last line coming around the metering device. Weird how they swapped the last two like that. From what I've read, it should make a difference, as the jets are constantly shooting, not like a times fuel injection system. Oh well, I'm a sticker for originality.
