Boy, that's over $113,000. Ouch- plus the usual confiscatory tax on stuff like this, or maybe not if it's a private sale. Here in California they get you on "use tax" anyway, though, unless you under report the sale price, which dealers cannot/will not do of course.

Nice looking but they're ALL nice looking. It's really what's on the inside that counts, though. I assume it's an '89 model, so that puts it at 25 years old. At that point mileage doesn't count, just maintenance and of course there's the salt/rust issue, even on a car with galvanized steel panels.

I bet you could do a lot better shopping in the USA; freight costs to Europe aren't that much in that price range. Lots of cars for sale here, even GTB's. I'd suggest checking out USA 328's in person to be sure of what you're getting. Not that expensive to fly here, either coast. Lots of cars in California but remember we don't use salt here in the winter; they do on the Least Cost, though. Especially in the NorthLeast!

    Good luck!

    Cheers,
    Rich

    Rich,

I have this car in my archives as being produced early August 89 (production of the 328 ceased end September '89, but of course some cars only reached the dealership later) It was first registered in Lichtenstein.

I have just purchased 328 GTB chassis 71959 yesterday evening: very expensive, red with black interiors, 31 k miles, excellent looking first paint, oem unrestored excellent looking interiors, no rear wing, black leather under the roof, 1987 rims but 1988 inside doors openers, first registered july 1987, ASI gold plate top grade A1 (means it's an unrestored car 100% oem in excellent conditions).
I'm very happy for the find, but now i have no more room for other cars! :)

    Game over

    ciao

    Alberto,

If my count is right, that makes FOUR 328 (and Turbos?).
It's getting seriously addictive, perhaps you should see a doctor?

i have just two 328 and two turbo (a GTB and GTS each one). I just changed the garage composition that had a Lamborghini and two Porsche (all sold) with four Ferrari, so I added just one car and the money value of the actual four cars (180-200 k euro) is by far less than the previous three cars (300-320 K euro), so i think my (disastered) mental health is improving and the doctor already helped me a lot... :)

Well then you pocketed 120k euro to spend on something else that was required(or maybe the wife said was required!) That makes sense......

coming back to the to topic, i think today 328 prices are almost twice than two years ago, when it costed 35-45 k euro and now we are at 50-80 k euro.

    ahahahha :)

    valid point!

also it looks like you got some "appreciating" assets ;)
in the end is all good i think...it is a lot of fun to buy, drive, restore these cars
and financially MUCH better than spend 200k for a 458 and ending with 90.000 3 years later

Yes, but I'm forced to act this way: I would buy an Huracan and a 458 too, if i had money to throw away. I'm not rich at all so i just can afford cars were you do not loose all your money. Maybe tomorrow my four old scraps will value less than today, but never so less as i had purchased a 911 turbo S and the fun is even better with old scraps.

    ciao

And having four 328/Turbos also simplifies the spare parts procurement: only one spare parts catalogue! So it is "logical"...

Well if you want to call nearly 200k as " scraps" maybe you're richer than you think my friend!

Yes, but there are several reasons: the first is that i like very much those models and now i have a small but complete red collection, the second is exactly what you wrote.

That's the friendly name that i always use to call every single old sport car i had or i still have, even if it's a shining and concours condition old expensive supercar.

They are scraps if compared with the new cars, even if they are often better looking than the new one.

Well, when I bought my second 328 about four years ago, I tried to explain to my wife that, as the two cars are identical, or almost (one being a GTB, the other one a GTS) and that they are only separarted by five weeks on the production chain, it made a lot of sense from a shared knowledge / spare parts / commonality point of view.

She failed to see the humor in this and seriously thought I was mad...and I need of an urgent visit to a therapist.
