Has anyone ever been successful in lowering a stock drivers seat in a 328 GTB or 348GTB? I need to gain about ½ inch. I want to keep the original seats, without excavating out any foam etc from the original seat to gain extra room. I do not need the seat to be adjustable forward and backward as I am 6’ 2” tall, so the seat stays back as far as it can go. My wife who is 5’ 2” has no desire to drive a Ferrari (she likes to be the passenger only)…..so I do not need the seat to be adjustable, just lowered a bit. Does anyone have a procedure for lowering a seat? Or know of a procedure? I am a GTB lover and would only consider the GTBs as that is the style I like.

In my 308 I left out the seat adjustment rails and bolted the seat directly to the floor. Rear holes align, only have to drill out the thread in the floor and then insert a bolt and tighten from under the car. For the front I made simple brackets. Gain is about 1 cm and the seat is in the same position I allways used which leaves just enough room for the targa top.

I noticed the left and right seat mounts are different and thought that it was likely due to some taller driver removing the wedge shaped blocks under the drivers side. This is not the case. The passenger side is made for the comfort as there is thigh support and the drivers side has no tilt to the front. This level condition makes for long term leg ache and the tendons on the back of my legs ache after a while. So I made some wedges similar in angle to the right side. I was able to remount the drivers side with longer bolts up front. The rear slides had to to be opened up into slots as with the wedge pulled the seat forward. I tapered the blocks to be zero to the rear as I am 6 feet tall and my head does graze the roof (sun roof car) so the angle ended up slightly less from the right side. The comfort level was way improved without effecting the head room clearance. I have no pictures but I can take some next time I ge to the car. I will need to do some cosmetic work such as covering with some black vinyl to make it appear more profesional or origional. But until then I will not arrive with sore calves.
