Greetings, I am sure that this will open a can of worms, but...... I am looking at purchasing a 328. It will need tires. I was wondering what people are running/recommending for a 328. No track use, just street driving and spirited runs down the freeway. I am looking at an '87 and a '89. Does the difference in suspension geometry difference between ABS/non-ABS make a tire choice different. Thanks, Mark
My UK '89 328 GTS is on Michelin Pilot 4's. They've been on the car for two years now, have handled perfectly and were around half the price of some other options.
As Phill, I put Michelin Pilot on all 328 I had and they are cheap ( in France ) @MMM owner of two GTS ? let's show both ..
Last year I installed Firestone Firehawk Indy 500s on my '89 328; happy with them. I selected them because the Firestone dealer is a mile from the house! FWIW, any current tire of the proper size/speed rating is far superior to the tires that were available when these cars were new...
Pirelli is remaking the original P7s from the mid 80s. The 328 did not originally use these tyres, they were fitted to Porsches in period, but they certainly look right on the car. However, they're expensive. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I also have the Pirelli Cinturato P7s shown in the previous post. I also have a second set of wheels with 2 year old Continental Extreme Contact Sports. Both tires are superb but the P7s look amazing!
Thanks for the input. Looks like the '89 sold so looking at the '87. I like the look of the pre-ABS Wheels better. I was thinking Michelin Sports, which is what I have always had on my 930 or Continentals which is what I have on the Cayenne S. The Pirelli's are interesting though.
