328 head lights pop up

Hey guys new here, my 328 drivers side head lights didn’t work so I took a look and found a wire wrapped around the arm that opens it, seems like it broke off from the tension of this wire over and over wrapped around it. My question is can some one tell me what this broken part is called? And where to buy? Also the wire that broke off goes back into the hole on top of the spare tire . See both photos thanks a bunch.

Not sure about the wire, but it looks like an add-on for something, not OEM. The connecting rod end is made of nylon - replace it with a metal one.
Edit: Follow the wire into the cabin and trace it to its source - possibly an old alarm instal. And plug the hole - it will let hot air into the cabin.
