After jittering over the last few mos one of my lights doesn't raise all the way now. It points maybe 10dgrs down. I can hand lift it to normal level but it falls limp back down to it's new resting level. The motor works fine. I guess there's an actuator arm or something I need to get at; how do I do this? Does the hood liner need to come out? (ack!) My searches didn't yield what I seek.

    Thx.

Can you get to it by taking the headlight out?

Been a while since I had the lamp out but I don't think so. Will check again though.

    FOLLOW UP & RESOLUTION:

    1. actuator arm bolt (that bolts to the bucket and lifts/lowers it) was loose enough to allow the jittering as well as the newly lowered position. I guess jittering indicates bolt/nut is loosening until it finally lets go.
    2. actuator arm length subsequently had to be adjusted once the bolt was retorqued to rest the headlight bucket flush with hood when lights off

Had to remove the lamp and the metal ring seat into which it is fixed. In my case, in addition to the two phillips screws at 10 and 2, there was one of three fixed bolts at 6'oclock (also at roughly 9 and 3) that still had a 10mm nut holding it down. Bit of a pain to remove this one. Removing these bits allowed ample access to get to the 16mm bolt (inside flange of lamp bucket) as well as the actuator arm (10mm box wrench to release the lower lock nut and to adjust the upper bolt/arm length).
