Last summer I discovered that my horn sounds very weak. I removed the hole unit and connected it directly to the battery of our toyota and there it was: the wonderful and strong yell of an old Ferrari horn - so the aircompressor and the horns are ok.

Next thing to check will be the circuit as I suspect a bad ground connection.
Are there any known weak points in the horn circuit? Where is the ground connected to the chassis?

    Any hints?

    Cheers

There's also a relay for the horn, might want to check that

Glad to see that this was not a men's 'problem page' arousal issue as I had first feared.

Already knew the thread but thanks. I will have the opportunity to test the horn on the car next week when it's on the lift...

    I'll do that.

Sorry for my english - did I miss an ambiguity?

Apparently if you are in England. No American English connotation.

I disassembled the horn compressor and lubricated everything. After cleaning the contacts, the horn seems to work fine again - a bit slow when engaging but ok after a second (maybe normal for air horns - it's my firstone).
