Ok guys, I finished up work today thought I'll go out and do an errand take the 328, fired it up ... ran great.. filled it up with gas, went to the store... and came back home... noticed that the car is not idling well ... runnign like 900 RPM, loopy... wierd... any ideas... I replaced the temp switch on the side of the coolant tank and that seemed to have fixed my previous problem of it idling too high... now this... any freaking Ideas...

It runs great when moving ... no hesitation does not seem to be missing.. just runnig poorly at Idle...

    HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Cheers!

If you havn't adjusted anything then sounds like it might be missing on maybe one cylinder at idle. Check your connections at the plug - with the engine running just push down on & wiggle each plug lead. Also check your spark plug extenders & maybe see what you can find with an inductive timing light. Look at where the plug leads are routed - especially the front bank to make sure one hasn't fallen down onto/near the exhaust manfold & is getting itself cooked through.

Pull the plugs & see what you can see from there.

If you think the ignition is fine then try a bottle of Fuel injection cleaner in a fresh tank of gas & take it for a good 50-70 mile run down the highway - but don't do this if you think the car is misfiring through the rev range.

If you are happy that your motor is strong then run it in 3rd at around 6K rpm for a minute or two - the good old "Italian tune up"
