Anyone know what the crossover is on a 86 328 ignition switch?
Its a small 7 pin switch with SWF Germany on it, no pt number.
Ferrari just sells the whole unit at around $800.00

For anyone that has a failure they are bit of a pain to get out, you need to remove the lower trim panel below the steering wheel, then the whole steering column must be dropped.I removed the steering wheel for better access to drop the steering assembly, next their were 4 bolts that held the frame which are a pain and have hard access, a open end wrench is all that fits 1 flat at a time, then 2 bolts that hold steering column to the frame, next wrestle the whole assembly down as it binds on the dash, remove the wires to the switch and 2 screws that hold in into the lock.

    Thanks in advance

It appears this switch is the same in most Ferraris from the advent of the locking steering wheel to the 90s at least, the differences in the whole switch assembly is the diameter and length of the rod, Ferrari has never sold this switch separately you always had a very expensive $600+ whole unit to buy, I found a pt no at Mcanns site don't know if its any good Bosch 0342313001 I'll find out Monday. Some Ferrari parts resellers may have this switch but are charging $130+ for it, this is a $10 part on a good day as you can see its very cheaply made and fails on Ferraris often.
