I am putting my instrument panel back in place this evening, after obtaining a new speedo. I should have asked this question sooner but just paying more attention at the moment. The lower screws appear to be original. The upper left screw was missing and the right was what is in the photo below. It feels like that upper part of the dash is some type of plastic, definitely not metal and I found a screw today that is probably very very close and would work threading into plastic. However looking at the holes a 2nd time they might have originally had a machine thread screw in them. Does anyone know the right size screw/thread for those top two screws? They are definitely smaller than the lower.
I used the screws I had and it seems fine. I used a slightly smaller thread on the left side because the next size up was larger. It still held fine. Tach and speedo work great. LED lights brightened things up. The dimmer even still works (thought it wasn't supposed too, correct). The LEDS dim down fine. The only issue I have is the 3 lights at the bottom of the tach don't light up. bright light, brake and (forget what the 3rd one is now). I guess I'll have to pull the panel out again.
