Here's a puzzler. Last winter, my 328's interior heating was faultless. I come to turn them on this year and find that neither driver or passenger's interior heat fans will operate. The heating temperature and direction *does* work using the LED rocker switchs, and once the engine is hot, heat comes out of the correct vent. Trouble is, if I turn on either of the interior heating fans, there's absolute silence.

I've checked the fuses and they seem fine. I haven't checked the relays, but it seems unlikely that both would fail at exactly the same time.

There may be a related clue.... Normally the engine temperature is rock steady, but lately I've noticed it swing over 200 degrees before the radiator fans kick in. This is pretty unsettling to see the engine temperature climb and wondering if it will blow before the fans start :(

On the fans, I'd have to say check the connectors in the center console. There ought to be a common power feed to the two fan rheostats (knobs).

On the coolent temperature, have you tried bleeding the cooling system of air? The temp gauge and the fans use temp sensors located in different places.

    Hi Mr. Condie.

It's been a while but as I recall the heater(s) blower input wire into the fusebox is comprised of both wires joining at a single terminal on the multi-connector that plugs into the driver's side of the fusebox. May want to check that you're getting power here and neither wire has fractured or terminal plug has backed out.

    :) Carl
