The lower end of the aforementioned (passenger side) is loose. Pls. advice on the correct way to tighten/secure. See pic below.
    Thanks.

Those are held in place by spring clips front and back. If the back is loose, the spring clip might have broken off or become flattened.

DGS, Do I need to pull out the whole assembly to check the spring clips? The front is secure and I couldn't pull it out.

    Thanks,
    Ron

Normally, you have to carefully pry those things out with a flat piece of metal as a lever.

The normal way to remove the console is to pry out the heater controls, then push up the rocker switches from underneath, giving you access to the mounting screws under the rocker switches (and under the ashtray assembly).

Try pushing the back end down, push the assembly to the rear, and then gently prying up the front with a wide screwdriver blade or piece of stock brass.

If that doesn't work, you can pry out the other heater control and then push up the "bad" one from underneath.

Be careful not to exert too much force. Not only are those controls expensive, but you could also mar the leather covering on the console.
