I've posted a few photos of #62319 in the twelve years that I've owned it, but I finally went and got the wheels repainted. And in honor of my favorite Ferrari sports racer, the 330 P4 (still the sexiest of its genre ever built), I had them done in a different color! I'm looking at buying a 328gts close to a deal on an 89 with 18k red/tan, fully serviced, being sold by a f dealer. Having a 3rd party shop test the paint with a meter. What else should I be looking for since this would be my 1st 328 and I have only had experience with a newer Ferrari.
I wouldn't put too much stock in a paint meter reading on that car. Ferrari used lead filler on these cars to make even panel gaps when they were new, and I'm not sure that the paint was applied with the precision of a German car of that period. I've heard of poor paintwork right from the factory with these cars. The most important things to focus on would be a consistent and thorough service history showing a no-compromise approach to maintenance, and the car's overall condition. If these are good then I think you are going in the right direction.
Having some fun with b&w. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

I just found a hard copy of a photo taken back in the late-80's. It's a red 328 that was owned by an Atlantic City area doctor, who drove it to work most days of the year. This is the car that sparked my obsession with the Ferrari 328. I used to ask my mom to drive past his office at least a few times a week so I could see it. Image Unavailable, Please Login
