Hi all, I last used the car a week ago with no issues, and yesterday I have no starter action when the switch is turned to the start position.. The battery is 12.6 volts, headlights are bright and do not dim when the switch is turned to energize the starter. This is a euro car and access to the starter wire connections is impossible without removing the alternator, so I haven't checked the wiring connections there. The starter motor was removed and serviced about a year ago. Is there a way to check the ignition switch for proper contact, or anything else in the system that could cause this problem?
See the "hard start" thread right above this one! I had the same problem, until my started today for some reason...! Greg
A guess. if the headlights are not dimmed when you turn the key then the starter is not being energized. You need to go back and trace the electricity ... 1. Did it make it to the starter, if so starter is dead 2. Did it make it to the solenoid, if so, the solenoid is dead 3. Did it make it to the secondary side of the ingition switch, if so the wiring is bad, if not the switch is bad.
