I just got off the phone with David, the seller. Here is the link: http://seattle.craigslist.org/skc/car/317328526.html I have a 1987 Ferrari 328 GTS with 43,000 miles in very good condition. Major service and new clutch less than 2000 miles ago. New Goodyear Eagle F1 performance tires. Rosso Red with tan leather interior and no rips/tears to upholstery. Runs, drives, and looks great. Car is a theft recovery and it had some light damage to the lower body work when I purchased and that has all been repaired with genuine Ferrari parts where necessary. I'm a little nervous about the, "theft recovery" but he says it has a clear title, and all parts were from FoS. I asked if he'd be willing to let me take it to Alfa of Tacoma and let Carlo look at it (at my expense) and he readily agreed. He's out of town now, so I can't see it until Friday. Your thoughts would be appreciated. -DrC
I would run a CarFax report on it. Even with a clear title, the insurance company may have reported the theft and recovery to CarFax.
Good point. The whole thing seems fishy, but the guy sounded pretty straightforward. Frankly, I didn't really expect him to answer when I called. I'll let you know what happens when I call him on Friday.
