I am looking for a "radio delete" panel for my 328, in black vinyl. Ferrari part number is 62316900. I got excited when Ricambi had one and placed an order, but then got an email saying my order was canceled because the part was unavailable. Hate it when that happens!

If anyone has any leads or one they would like to sell, please let me know. Thanks!

    Carmine,

Unless OEM is a 'Must' along with the severe wallet drain, a guy in the UK makes them for much less and they are indistinguishable from the OEM ones, IMO.

He is advertising them on ebay from time to time. I got my 308 plate from him.

Ill try to get you a direct contact address a bit later if interested.

It's just a DIN-shaped piece of wood/plastic/whatever with black vinyl covering. Pretty sure you could fabricate one in an hour or two.

I would love the contact info, thanks! OEM is not critical, but I would like something that fits, functions, and looks just like OEM.

A quick update: Thanks to Mark's tip, I contacted the seller on ebay. His ebay name is "roboheros" -- just been communicating with him via ebay for now. He has not done a radio delete panel for 328, but has done panels for 308s, 400s, and other Ferraris. I am working with him to produce one for a 328. I have searched Fchat and come up with as many photos as I can of the 328 delete panel (attached below for ease of reference for anyone searching in the future).

    Can anyone:

    1. Clarify exactly how the delete panel is fixed in place. I have one (blurry) photo of the back side of the panel, but not 100% sure how it works. I assume that a separate aluminum bracket spans the back of the radio console, and a bolt goes through that bracket and threads into the metal piece shown on the back of the delete panel?
    2. Provide me with exact dimensions of the delete panel.

If not, I will do my best and keep everyone posted.... Thanks!

    Carmine

The brown radio delete plate your showing I purchased from Javadog a couple years ago as Duane (GatorFl) had a 328 GTB with a special-order brown leather dash which the delete plate was originally part of. I wanted to re-unite the delete plate with Duane’s car and later learned that Duane had sold the car to Scott (GS Scott) who I finally was able to reach and deliver the plate to.

Attached are photos (front and back) of an original delete plate I purchased several years ago from Ted Rutlands. One can tell an original by looking at the underside of the vinyl covering and locating the black line that runs the length of the vinyl. The delete plates are becoming near impossible to find as you know. Hope this helps in the reproduction process.

Thank you so much, Alan! Can you possibly also provide dimensions of:

    - The metal bracket
    - The length of the bolt that protrudes from the back of the delete panel

    Very helpful. Thank you!

To simplify things, I am happy to work with Richard (the seller) to confirm dimensions/design, and then I can confirm for everyone when he is ready to produce the plates?

Given the limited numbers we're talking about here, probably no formal "group buy" is required. We can each just contact him individually to place our orders once he's ready....

And they're only about $40, so I wouldn't think there's much discount potential for a group anyway.

I have also been in contact with roboheroes. My exchange with hi. Is below.

Thank you for your response. Yes, I got your contact name from Ferrarichat.

I am fine with the metal plate finish being different but I want to be certain of the following:

    - the black vinyl material is precise

    - the 328 backing is much different than the 308’s you made. On the 328 there is a center fixing bolt rather than two on each end.

    - there is a smaller metal plate that affixes to the bolt, one side of the plate is curled along the horizontal ends.

    Hi,

Thank you for your interest, I believe you have found me through another gentleman who is looking to have the Radio Delete fabricated for the 328. He has kindly sent me some images and dimensions. I'm in the work shop today so I will cut out the plate metal for some of these (i'll probably make 5) and prepare them. What I will say to you is the same I said to him, the originals were just thr…

We still need to get him the dimensions for the small bracket as well as the length and size of the center bolt. We should also be certainthe metal bracket has the horizontal curls on it.

The small metal backing bracket measures 70mm x 32mm, and the lip is 7mm tall. The metal thickness is 1mm.

The mounting bolt on the back of the blanking plate protrudes 15mm and is 4mm thick.

    I hope this helps.

Thanks to Alan, we have all of the dimensions and info. I will provide it to Richard and keep everyone posted on timing.

Richard is providing a very helpful service to us. If there are other questions, feel free to pose them here and I am happy to act as the go-between so that we can streamline communication and be respectful of his time....

    More soon!

Thanks for doing this. I have messaged back and forth with him as well but I’ll let you take the lead, though I still believe we need the thickness of the delete plate metal. Alan - do you have that?

No problem! He did include that info (see above) - 1 mm.

I have provided him with all measurements and data.

Tentative cost is 35 British pounds all in (including shipping to US) - that's around $46. He needs to confirm final cost when he sources all materials. He will be back to me with a timing estimate. This is clearly a really good deal and his quality seems very good. Kudos to someone who is not inclined to charge the Ferrari mark-up!
