This is the factory plate that was installed in my '86 GTB. As useless as the radios are in these cars, mainly because of the lousy speakers chosen by Ferrari and installed where they could do the least amount of good, if I still had the car I'd pull the radio and put this back in.

It's covered in the brown leather that Ferrari used for my leather dash, but could easily be recovered to match other cars. Might fit models other than the 328. Overall dimensions are 189mm by 61mm.

Sorry about the lousy photo of the back side. It's held in place by a clamp that vertically spans the back side of the radio opening in the dash, tightened with one small nut.

    $50/OBO, plus shipping.

I recently jettisoned my radio and installed an original block off plate in my 1988.5 328 GTB. You can't believe the attention I've gotten since.

I have to say, that looks really nice and clean. In all the years I owned my GTB, I probably listened to the radio fewer than half a dozen times. Ferrari really did a poor job on the sound systems of their cars in that era and my 328 was vastly more noisy than my TR. Mostly cam and valvetrain noise, so it wasn't the greatest noise, either...

    Jeff,
I have the matching car (#327). If it doesn't sell, I will most definitely purchase it.
    PM sent.
    Thank you,
    Scott

It's sold, folks. Sorry I don't have a half dozen of these....

    Scott,

So you now own my old car? Last I knew, it was down in Florida.

    Hi Jeff,

Yes, I have your "old car". And boy is she a beauty! Congratulations, and thank you for being such a great custodian. I recently purchased it from an outstanding individual, Duane Miller, who had the car in Florida. He is also quite a writer! Below is an exerpt of the for sale ad:

This car is an '86 model with just over 27,000 miles. Included in the sale of this concours-ready car are all keys, tools, books, service records and other documentation from new, including the original bill of sale. This shows this car was purchased new out of Lake Forest Sports Cars on March 18, 1986.

The car was ordered with some options which make this car even rarer than the typical GTB. It is finished in the classic Rosso Corsa red over tan interior. Instead of the 328's typical black vinyl dash, this GTB has a unique brown leather dash and door pulls. And instead of the usual cloth headliner, this car was ordered with a tan leather headliner and brown carpets. The result is a stunning and rich looking interior that still turns heads.

In January, 2015 this car scored a multiple Platinum win at the prestigious Cavallino Classic, winning trophies for the concours and for preservation. In March 2015 this car won “Best 80's Ferrari” at the Miami Beach Concours, beating out a variety of other models on the lawn that day.

Needless to say, I'm thrilled with the car, and dealing with Duane was a genuine pleasure.

I've talked to Paul tonight and he's such a gentleman as well. He's going to help reunite the plate with the original car - I'm so fortunate to be associated with such honorable men.

Thank you. I hope to be as good a custodian as all of the previous owners.

    Sincerely,
    Scott

Scott - Enjoyed talking with you tonight and I am more than happy in reuniting the radio plate with your car. I am including a picture of your car (with Duane behind it) to the left of Tim Stanford's car when all three of us were at the 2015 Cavallino event and won platinum.

A quick note of appreciation to both Jeff and Paul for their thoughtfulness, efforts and values - two amazing members in this community of Ferrari owners. Really an incredible turn of events to get the original plate back to the original car some twenty years later....

Gentlemen, a sincere thank you to both of you.
