328 Ramp Clearance

As part of turning a surplus room in our home into a garage and workshop, I'll need to construct a ramp from ground level up to the floor level of the room, the height difference is around 60cm.

I was wondering if anyone has measured the approach and departure angles for a U.S. spec 328. Unfortunately I'm storing my car at a friend's home while I build the garage, and I don't have access to it right now to make the necessary measurements. Any help would be much appreciated.

 

Here's a drawing I did for an Aussie Fchatter some years ago (for a much steeper rise) - the critical bits are the 'transitions' between flat and rising/falling (the 3 bits with dimensions).

I just measured the area again again, and I have almost exactly 5000mm of runway to gain 620mm of height.

So, I think that means from ground level I can do:

1 in 16 for 1200 = 75 gain
1 in 6 for 1770 = 295 gain
1 in 8 for 2000 = 250 gain

I believe I'm allowed to reduce the length of the 1 in 6 zone since I'm transitioning to a shallower slope afterwards, and not to a steeper slope.

This gives me a height gain of 620mm in 4970mm of runway. Do you agree?

 

Don’t forget a transition area at top; main ramp section can be a bit steeper if necessary - it is the transitions that are important.

 

I thought I did take that into account with the final section of 1 in 8 for 2000mm. Am I missing something else?

Also, do you happen to remember what the minimum clearance to the front spoiler and the belly would be when using this design? 10mm? 50mm? I know it was a long while ago, so you may no longer recall this.

 

No sorry I don’t recall. The measurements are from Aus design standards.
Whenever I have to cross an unfamiliar transition I come to a complete stop and then give a little blip to bring the nose up a fraction as I cross, just to be on the safe side!
