328 rear window installation

I cant help here but curious how much the rubber seal cost you. If you dont mind... Im sure someone will chime in on the procedure.

 

I will assume the 328 rear glass is the same style as the 308QV. The following was done with 2 people, one on the outside, the other on the inside of the car. That being said, install the rubber gasket around the glass. Next, insert a strong string / cord into the outside groove of the gasket. The ends of the cord should overlap by at least 10 inches. Measure carefully the car window frame and the gasketed glass to determine the exact center for both. From the outside, align the glass against the car window frame applying even pressure. From the inside, grab one end of the cord and begin to slowly pull it towards the car interior. The outer lip of the rubber gasket will slide over the window frame. Continue pulling on the string ends as the gasket slips into position. I found that this worked well except for the 2 outside corners. There, I used a wooded chop stick to push, from the outside, the gasket lip into place. Suprisingly, this whole procedure took only about 15 minutes to complete. Good luck.

 

Having watched a glass pro install auto windows a few times, I think their fee is more than worth it. I've even seen where they had to trim the glass slightly to make it fit right. I'd let a pro do it; they'll come to your house so you don't even have to move the car. Good luck.
