    Hi,

I just realized the US 328 uses a different seat belt (well different pn at least) from the 308 while in other markets the 308 seat belts are used in the 328 as well. Anybody know the difference between the belts?

All US market 328's and 308's used the Klippan Seat Belt model 4570. They were also used on Fiat X19s,Fiat Spiders and various Lancias of the era as well as Deloreans, believe it or not!

There are many threads on this including my own,use the search facility.

The " Rest of World " seat belts used everywhere else were also manufactured by Klippan.

They are model K6240 and are still available from www.klippan.com.au

    Hope this helps

    Pete,

I did a search and I read your posting. I am trying to consolidate what was said with what I read in the parts catalog. AFAICS there is no US specific 308 seat belt in the parts catalog. Did I miss something? Is the catalog misleading?

Not sure of what you mean by this? I thought my post was clear?

All US market 308's and 328's had the exact same type of seatbelts fitted(Klippan 4570).

European and Rest of world cars had the Klippan K6240.

In the U.S. Factory Ferrari parts catalogues for the 308 and 328 the part numbers are different for each car,but the belts are the same! The belts are worth $$$and N.O.S is non-existant! As I said various Italian cars sold in the US during this time had exactly the same belts fitted.

The Delorean had the same belts fitted also and these are still available new but the stalks the belts plug/click into are too short for the308/328 cars, although the inertia reel mechanisms and belts are identical!

I can still get the Klippan K6240 belts fitted to all Euro and Rest of World 308/328 cars here new in Australia as they are still being manufactured hereby the local Klippan plant.

PM me please and Ill be happy to help or post further?

    Cheers

    Pete

Yes, your post was clear. I meant whether I missed something in the parts catalog.

Got you! As far as I can see the 308 PN is the same as the rest of the world PN for the 328. This makes me think they just did not assign a different PN to the USA belts till the 328.

Thanks for the explanation, it's very much appreciated.

    Thomas
