I took the seats out of my 328 so that I could treat the leather. This is the first time the seats have been removed from the car. When I unbolted and lifted the seat out I found what I think are the washers for the rear mounting hole sitting in front of the hole. They didn't fall there when I lifted the seat out. You can see they have pressed into the rubber coating they spray on the subfloor. They must have been placed there during assembly. Perhaps because the hole is not round and not aligned with the underlying bolt hole. It was the same on both sides and only for the rear bolt holes. I'm not sure what I should do. Placing them in the same spot seems silly. Any suggestions? I posted pictures of the hole and you can see the dent the washer made just in front of the hole.

It probably doesn't matter. But if it's factory I'd just put them back because.....well, where else would you put them?

Do others 328s have the washer around the threaded hole in the frame under the rail?

I decided to put it back together exactly how I found it. I realized that the front bolt holes didn’t have a washer in the space around the hole. It is now “as built” by the factory again.

Maybe the washers were put there as shims or spacers. Never know.
