    I recently read somewhere that Ferrari recommends replacing shocks every six years, regardless of miles driven. What are your thoughts on that? Mine have 19,000 miles on them and seem fine, but I don't know what a new '86 328 drives like. I'm looking at shocks right now and notice that there are red and yellow Konis available. What's the difference between the shocks? Thanks!

    There are also Konis and Bilsteins under 328s. The Bilsteins can be rebuilt, not sure about the Konis.

    The Konis can also be rebuild and they last much longer than 6 years...

    Only the châssis numbers after #79600 ( built december 1988) might have been fitted OEM with Bilsteins, although some of the late cars still has Konis as original OEM until the end of production.

    More seriously, there is a technical bulletin suggesting That ALL late cars should have been fitted with Bilsteins; "trouble" is...it's not the case, more than half still got Konis!

    I have never read that shocks need to be replaced on some schedule. It sounds suspiciously like one of those things that gets mentioned by somebody on the internet (maybe shock sellers?) and then becomes "common knowledge" and a "fact" that never was… ;)
