I'm new to 328 ownership and have a question. I noticed that when idling the 'power' of the exhaust coming out of my right pipes is much stronger than the left side. The left exhaust smoke sounds wimpier, comes out slower, and is hotter.

Any thoughts on this? Am I being too picky here?

    Thanks,
    Dan

It is all okay as they even out when going faster.:D

Really, no problem, it is the same for all the 328's, or at least those that I have seen.

Thanks for the quick response. I figured.....everything felt good otherwise. Just thought I'd ask.

FYI...same on a 308....the right side is the shorter exhaust route so it idles stronger.

FWIW, I just put on a Tubi and new Cat on my 328, and now it's MUCH more even.
But I had noticed the same thing before the upgrade. Now you REALLY have to look
to see much of a difference.

Good question!! The US version of the 328 has both the left and right exhaust headers emptying into the right side of the muffer hence the strong exhaust out the right pipe. The Euro version has the right exhaust header entering into the right side of the muffer and the left exhaust header entering into the left side of the muffer. Major reason the Euro 328 has much more even flow with stock muffer is because there is no CAT on them so the exhaust gas is sent to either side of the muffer and disperses more evenly....hence the 10hp.
