OK, I am really pissed at myself. I had a web site saved, or so I thought, where for $49.00 I could get an ignition key for my 328 that was not just a cheap steel key. It had plastic and had the silver horse on it. Needless to say I can't find that site anymore.

ItalianCarParts.com only has an all black one and it's $100.00.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!

I bought mine at Steve Harris Imports - the F40 key fits 308/328 ignition systems (provided you have it cut correctly) and has the nifty chrome Cavallino inlay. The older-style 'hinged' keys are no longer being made.

Sodacoms, that MUST have been it. Great! Thanks guys, it's already on order. I guess it was an "obvious" place to look.

Local locksmiths can help you, i got a few extra ones for about $2.00 each...

Ok, so they don't have the prancing horse on them, but they work just as well for 100 times cheaper......

Is the hinge feature the difference from 308 to 328?

I use local guys as well....Italy makes Ilco Brand #H61VR

Also have used Taylor X12 as an equal.

Here is a Canadian maker Dominion Lock Company R61N

Door key is Taylor F72X.....or DominionNE15.

Ya I knew of that site, but his don't have the horse. Once you see the horsey one that's all you want.

A friend said "ooooo a Ferrari key, can I see it?" What a let down when I handed him a mere punched steel key. Never again!

There is a seller always on Ebay that sells a pair of blanks for about $6. Get a piece of white label or similar and stick on to your existing key and cut around it. Peel off the sticky template and stick it onto the blank, then just simply cut to the shape with a Dremel or file and voila two keys for under $8. I did it and they work fine, the keys on older Ferraris are very basic and you don't need a very accurate copy to work properly. Save all the extra money for fuel and have fun. !!!

I've always been curious about the folding key. It's kind of nifty, but what's the purpose? I thought maybe its function was to "give" with your body, so it doesn't poke into your leg when it's stuffed into the pocket of your tight pants.

A tall friend suggested that the hinge feature was to provide additional knee room in the cockpit.
