If you go that route, make sure they know it is an 89 and do the offset and backspacing appropriately. Notice the dish on the wheels is not that deep, though still a 9 inch wheel in the back.

You have a digit missing from your VIN ????
Has to be ...6 or 7 ? if it's 1989? has to be 78301 which in actual fact makes your car a late 1988 manufactured car ?

59301 was the first GTS - 58735 was first GTB .....

 

Unless of course you mean 8301? Last digit is missing ??????

I have been looking for info on my car. I was wondering if any of you F chatters can help. 1. Is it the rarest color made in a 328? 2. How early is the car? ie: 1st 20 built? 1st 100 built etc. and 3ed with the early build date is it maybe the first prugna 328 made? ser #60503

Prugna is certainly a 'rare' colour, I know of only 3 other's 2 LHD & 1 RHD,
Verde Scuro is possibly the rarest colour, Only 2 examples are known and both are LHD GTB's !
Your car is definately not in the first 20 vehicles built - and probably falls outside the first 100 aswell ? The VIN you gave is the second car in the list of Prugna coloured car's that I know of, but my data is not absolute ?

The earliest 328 is recorded at 58735, which places 1768 serial numbers between your car and that one. I belive at that time Ferrari was still using odd only VIN for street cars, so that results in 884 street cars built between the 1st 328 and yours. Even with the TRs, 400s and Mondials taking some of those VINs, your car is still going to be well after the 100th 328 built.

It is the only one in that color on the 328 register thus far.

 

I remember seeing a 1988 1/2 328 GTS finished in Prugna over Crema hides sitting on the floor of Shelton Ferrari in Ft. Lauderdale. This is roughly 8-10 years ago. I wonder where that car is now. It was gorgeous!

 

Didnt think it was really as low as the 1st 20, was just using numbers as an example to explain the question. Thank you all for your info. I was told by FNA when I bought the car that it was 1 of 10 in 86. Then they also said there were 14 more built in 87, 88, and 89 but with no break down per year. Seemed like alot of Prugna 328s to me. I have had the car 9 years and have yet to see another one. I have seen 4 or 5 mondials in this color but no 28s. I heard here on Long Island there was (or is) a boxer in this color. Anyway thank you all for your posts. Greg

I just picked it up today, my first F-Car.
