Rare or not, with the cost of full restoration one is well into Daytona and GTC territory. Personally as for smiles per mile per $ i take the GTC.
I'd say so. 250 styling with 330 powertrain. Who knows how many remain... Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
Just learned that it will be fully restored. Fingers crossed that the original specs will be adhered to - including Bianco 20414 A White.
Will be interesting to see “their”(?) interpretation of this ^^ often so carelessly thrown around pesky little word.
Here’s my two cents. To whoever brought this car, it is your car. It is just a car. If you want to paint it pink and valet it outside titty bars, you only live and love once. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
275+ I was puzzled by your post - and what prompted you to say that? On that note, analyzing the bidding, it seems that the bidder 'angrywilson' was not a genuine bidder.
Agreed. I almost suspected him of intentionally inflating the price. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
The early bidding looked legitimate, later perhaps not? I've seen a number of auctions on BaT where the the bidding seems artificially high or spirited early on. Given the condition of the car I would think that serious buyers would want to have eyes on it or have some clear answers to specific questions. The seller seems to have gone to sleep on the listing--minimal engagement with bidders, no comments for 2 days? Having said that the result exceeded my expectations. All's well that ends well.
Nothing new under the sun. Shilling, along with other shenanigans, has always been (relatively) common at specialty, i.e art/car/collectible/etc. auctions and that's why any, especially unexpected or unusual "action" or "results" should always be taken with a grain of salt. Always easier for someone other than consignee or high bidder to say… … and for latter, depending on expectations, it might just be a beginning.
I don't understand why you guys make all the fuss. The bidder that you call not genuine could be related to Mr. Chan DeLier who has been mentioned on these forums before. They are both avid Ferrari collectors of impeccable taste.
Why bring this one back: I just learnt that you were spot on with all of your comments, and then some, and it's worse than I could have imagined. Always thought that you are a bit on the harsh side with your comments (this one and many others) but I don't think that any more! Thanks!
