Lots of questions about this car and the website it was found on.

Apparently "Supercar Blondie" - a You Tube influencer - is expanding into the online auction business by featuring cars found at other dealers - in this case the "Car Gold Collection" in Germany. A visit to their website does not show this vehicle and they did not reply to an email inquiry.

The ad is not particularly confidence inspiring - providing very limited information. They also identify the car as a 1966, however the serial number range would indicate a 1967 model to the best of my knowledge.

Does anyone know more about this car or the dealer channel involved?

Supercar Blondie, her team, and investors did launch a new online auction site (like everyone else). It is legit, well done, and has plenty of support. They have 70 or so cars available now including the Lotus collection etc. I don't know about this particular car, but valid to dig into its history etc, most of these auction specialists don't have the specific experience with vintage Ferraris like many FerrariChat users.

Not at all unusual that these platforms recycle dealer inventory and also standard practice for the seller to 'delist' anything offered on the platform from all other outlets and assign exclusivity to the auction platform. BAT, PCarmarket, heck RM Sotheby's all do the same.

I would put credence in a BaT auction far before this. Not one question has been answered on the forum. I vote "no confidence".

I plan to watch to see if there is a meaningful close to this one...

Ummm...I say "not well done" if they are not answering questions on the forum. This pales in comparison to BaT. Not even close. I would think that they would need to be "better than them" if they want to break on to the online auction scene....

where have you been, BAT gets hammered here every week for poorly described Ferrari auctions and "storied" cars that are just revealed on FerrariChat. I'm not saying SBX did a good job with this listing, but hardly ever does anyone live up to the FerrariChat standards. The RM Sotheby's "250 GTO" is a perfect example of that, they had a book about the car and still didn't get it right up to FerrariChat standards.

I've been here and there. The difference over at BaT is that there is a dialogue happening that often includes knowledgeable folks from F-Chat that helps sort fact from fiction. The often extensive conversation ("hammering" if you wish to call it that) helps vet the cars to the best extend possible for those willing to gamble with a specialty car purchase online.

The reality is that no one should be purchasing a Ferrari (and especially an Enzo era Ferrari) through an online auction...much less any auction...period. Far too much to be verified. That needs to happen through an in-person inspection and test drive as well as a comprehensive PPI. Short of that, it really is gambling...

No reserve and yet no sale but bid to at least $215k (I didn't see the final bid number).

Someone much more intelligent than me can explain how No Reserve...but with bids....equals no sale.

Unless of course the NR was BS which possibly says a lot about that auction site.

good question. I think they mishandled the auction no matter what. did the winning bidder back out? the known dirty secret is the online auctions bid up cars internally, but it will be a no sale if the highest legit bidder isn't enough.

They did not publish the final bid...and I did not see it close to the end. I do recall that it was in the 300 some euro range last I looked.

To me, this SBX Cars auction site is inferior to many others. Not sure how they can be trusted to provide enough information. Not a good auction for this car.

I did just now check the CarGold Collection website and did not see the car listed. Will check again later....

What's the longer story on the car? Any idea?
