You offered it for sale from 15 October 1994 until 14 October 1995. The ask back then was initially US$ 87'500 and then later reduced to US$ 79'500.
In April 1997 it was again for sale (not by you) and the ask was US$ 68'000. Current owner got it in July 1997.

So cool to have a previous owner. How long did you have it? Thoughts about the car?

I had it a few years but did not drive it extensively. At the time I had too many cars and not enough space. As I recall I replaced shocks, one broken spring, exhaust and did an alignment shortly after it arrived. The interior was really tidy, excellent headliner. The car drove very well but the steering box was getting notchy. I meant to have it rebuilt but never got around to it. Swapped out the Campys for the RW 4039s shortly before selling it.

As outlined in the description over those 25 years the current owner had a significant amount of mechanical work done on the car. Strong engine and good transaxle w/ a mostly rebuilt suspension. I have seen the owner's notebook of records on the car. It's pretty extensive.

It's a driver at best but far from being "correct" in many aspects. And obviously needs a lot of cosmetic work to bring it up to a better level of finish.

    SOLD for $36,850!!!!

The market has finally crashed as predicted years ago!

Anyone know the real story of how things planned out?

I was not at the auction. But I was told the owner wanted $553k for the car. It was bid up to $510k. After the bidding ended the high bidder and owner agreed to a $530k sale price.

Think you might be right. The car shows up on the auction company's "Still Available" page. Guess my info about a post auction deal being made was wrong.

I know the owner. We talk 330s on occasion. I will reach out to him for the backstory.

The owner of 9963 told me the high bid was $520,000. He wants $550k. Said he likes the car a lot, is going to hold with the belief that Enzo era cars will increase in value.

He mentioned that other 330 owners that have driven his car say it's the strongest engine of any 330 they have driven. He has offered to let me drive it more than once. Next time I am in Naples I may take him up on that kind offer.

Just confirming the car did not sell.

Thanks again. FWIW the car still has the same Aeroquip lines that it had when I owned it some 25 years ago.
