Forgive my X-posting here, but is there a source to rebuild these? The springs in the unit are weak and so the switch wants to remain "on" and not return to the "neutral" position and thus burned up a motor. A good used one? thanx steve

i did not think that nos ones were still available. i did buy 2 from gt car parts a few yrs back, and if i recall they were 600 each.....nos orig style with the writing on them........they are not hard to repair if u are inclined to take them apart?

steve, have u taken it apart?

Left yesterday for ODD Parts. Not sure of the cost, but, as you said, they run about $600

Had superior communications with Jim Simpson O,D,D parts....extremely knowledgeable and well organized (what would you expect from an engineer?)
He knew the switch, ahemm, backwards and forwards. Sent readable diagrams for the best way to do this....no tiny schematics.
More than fairly priced and fast....it's on it's on its back home in less than a week even with the Xmas/USPS mess. Thanx for the tip! 12659

Caveat: I haven't tried it yet, but I'm very confident ht this problem is solved.

    thanx steve
