Hello, I could use some help.
I have a request for assistance from a customer who needs to remove his 330 GTC's column switch. He is looking for a source for the 6 notch nut that retains the steering wheel's hub.

Does anyone know of a source for this tool?

History has shown that it is the nut behind the wheel that is most often in need of adjustment, and is the single greatest source of problems in all types of cars.

    Kerry,
I had already pointed him to youur Parrotbite thread. He seemed uncomfortable with 'grinding his own'.

Well, then he probably shouldn't be taken the rest apart. Much more liable to damage an irreplaceable part than hurt himself with a die grinder.

But then I shouldn't talk, 7 stitches when I bound a cutoff wheel and it walked across the back of my hand!

My solution was to buy a 27mm socket a Sears and have my local metal shop weld in 2 small bumps at 12:00 and 6:00 o’clock. Works perfectly and cost less than $20 total.

Sure, probably have one on the shelf. What size is the ring nut?
