This 330 GTS roadster was created from a 330 GTC and just completed. What is it worth? Asking price is $900,000 . Is that a value or good investment?

Road Show Auto Sales have the chassis number 10375 wrong in the description here as that is a real 330 GTS. Chassis 10375 details here.

This 330 GTC has not been rebodied, unless they've actually used a 330 GT 2+2 rather than a 330 GTC, but just cut the roof off, and added a 250 California like windscreen with hardly any surrounding support for it.

I have written: same price like the original 330 GTC, have nothing written from a GTS

With out speaking to this car, I would suggest you look at photos of a real 330 convertible and this vehicle.

    Lot’s of things to consider.

After looking at the not-very-revealing pictures, I’d say it’s worth much less than the”donor” car, if in fact it was a 330GTC.

I guess they've changed the chassis number because it says 9837.

What's with the enormous fuel filler cap?

Personally I think it looks truly awful. Why buy a classic Ferrari that looks like a replica?

Totally agree Jonathan, to me it is worth what a 330GTC would be worth less the cost to restore to something that resembles something other than a kit car.

Yes, they have now definitely changed the chassis number from 10375 to 9837.

Well, my peanut gallery take on its investment value/worth would be something like this (similar to that of Matthews):

$900K minus “average”(?) value of a decent-to-good 330 GTC (lets say $500K-$600K) minus the costs required to bring it back up to a 330 GTC (or whichever model it was born as ?) worth $500K-$600K, although this current episode in the poor cars life may prove less than ideal for its “investment”(?) potential.

    YMMV

This should be worth less than a 330 GTC.

    Abomination.
This 'thing' is worth less than a wrecked, burned, and drowned 330 GTC on its way to the crusher.......
Whoever did this should have their bondo scraper taken away!
Barely qualifies for the "crappy replicas" thread.....

Besides the engine. There is no upside on this abomination.

It’s worth whatever the mechanicals are worth.

It would make an interesting Testa Rossa. No point in doing much more with it now.

    Sad.

    Respectfully disagree !
Making it into yet another fakeydo TR wouldn't be less sad, let alone an improvement. If anything, it would likely cause additional butchery leading the poor car even further away from its DNA/lineage, not to mention more difficult to correct.

I know not all cars can or are meant to be saved, but this one is still within realm of reasonable(?) possibilities.

There was one for sale in the FML about 2 month ago. I believe the car was done by Beckman from southercal, for a gentleman Paul Forbes. I dont know if the car was finished, but he did acquire early on all the specific GTS items to convert a GTC to a GTS. According to Paul, the doors and A pillar frames are different - slope of the A pillar, window trim is different among a few items that i remember him telling me. I never saw the car, just talked about it with Paul.

I believe that the DNA is in the Columbo V-12 and other mechanicals, not the sheetmetal.

But I also believe I’m pretty alone in this.

I ran a 330 2+2 for several years. I left it quite stock. But I have no problem buying an already rebodied car. I sure wouldn’t rebody a perfectly good car. But I would put this senescent nag out of its misery.
