10913 was privately converted for Harrah in 1968. In 2014 it was brought back to original/normal 330 GTS Spider configuration. Marcel Massini
We converted the car back to its original factory configuration several years ago. Ferrari of Beverly Hills had the car for sale. Do not know what ever happened to it .
Too bad the owner decided to do this IMHO. It was an in period conversion and to me it looked quite good. Were there technical reasons or was it just a matter of taste? If you don't like the shape then why not buy a standard 330 GTS?
Agree, that was a very special 330 and one of a kind. MCM did modifications in house for William Harrah on his cars and all were done to the highest standards and very professionally. Their restoration department at the museum was first class
The owner at the time wanted it converted back to its stock configuration. The Harrah modifications were not done very well and looked a little out of proportion and strange. When we converted back to its original configuratiion we basically serviced the engine without repainting to try and keep its original patina and left interior as original.
Other then the Harrah modifications. The car was in very good original condition and about 25,000 miles on the clock.
Thanks for the explanation. To be clear I was just curious about the thoughts behind the reversion, not trying to knock your work.
Rear window was plexiglass and didn't fit all that well. I think over the years it lost its shape a bit. i am not sure about the stainless steel roll hoop. That may have been fabricated. They hacked up the car pretty well for the conversion. The trunk lid was probably half its original size.
