Someone is going to have to reach very, very deep into their wallets for this one. https://rmsothebys.com/en/auctions/az22/arizona/lots/r0075-1966-ferrari-330-gtc-speciale-by-pininfarina/1199846
Agreed, guessing $1.3M? The frog eyes are unique, and rare, but I understand why they never made it to production as the front looks goofy when up. I prefer the stock 330 side vents to the hood vent, but as a 365 owner I understand the functionality for heat dissipation. I wonder why they didn’t employ both side and hood vents, cool looks and functional.
I agree and that goes with Daytona + all others that came after. Actually, I can’t think of any make/model car with pop up lights I would find “attractive” with them on/raised. On the personal level, I’d rather have “standard” 330 GTC than this and certainly wouldn’t pay premium for the extra light treatment. If anything, I’d probably offer less because of them.
$600-$700 thousand more for two extra fog lights??? And most all other design features are incorporated into later serial numbers. Don't get me wrong, i am always interested in special one offs and special serial numbers.
Agreed. The 1 of 6 rarity will factor into the bidding. The modifications were done after it left the factory, but because they were done by Sergio it’s treated like a Ferrari delivered car. If we did that to our cars it would reduce the value by $200k!
This car had 3918 Borranis, 15x6 1/2. The standard wheel for 330 GTCs is 4039, 14x7. Specials is special? Image Unavailable, Please Login
Are you referring to the wheel/tyre on #8727? #8727 had correct 72 spoke 14" Borranis (RW4039) with 205 VR14 XWX tyres as pictured by RM Sotheby's.
It had the wrong wheels on it then with the correct 14" wheels having been removed for some reason. Nothing has been made of this car having 15" wheels, which would have been the case if they were correct for it. The only GTC that I know of with 15" wheels is the ex Leopold Pirelli 365 GTC #10581 that had Campagnolo 5 spoke star magnesium wheels.
I wanted to point out the different wheels since someone long age traded out the wheels on my 330 GTC from 4039 to 3874. So what became of the original 4039s and 205VR14 tires for this car?
UK's Tom Hartley Jnr is selling 1967 Ferrari 330 GTC Speciale chassis #9571. I notice it has pop-up front lights. & the website says "One of only five 330 GTC Speciales ever produced" . I hope Mr Marcel Massini can comment in this, https://www.tomhartleyjnr.com/car/stock/1967/ferrari/330-gtc/330-gtc-speciale/ferrari-330-gtc-4/
Not to mention the dreaded, engine destroying Fram oil filters. In all fairness, the ones in this car appear to be those more modern versions that I wouldn't use without closer inspection of their internal structural construction, if even then.
