Hi, I just got my MG models 330P4 in 1/123 and am looking for references on this car.
I found this book online but it is pretty expensive to buy sight unseen. does anybody have it, and is it worth getting for a modeler?

    330/P4 by P. Marasca

    thanks for responding!

Ask to the user Napolis, probably he may help you.

I have it , and yes it was expensive . But if you love that car (the P4 ), then you will just have to have it .

    Sudesh,
IMO it is not worth getting for a modeller. Many of the photos are small, and some of the larger ones seem to be particularly grainy. There are few detail photos, and even the Bardinon P4 section doesn't have any good engine bay photos.
The problem is that at this point in time there isn't really any alternative book.
Cavallino 145 has a nice feature article on the 330P4 and is a lot cheaper than the Marasca book.
And don't forget to search the Ferrarichat threads as there have been lots of genuine P4 photos posted, and if you ask for anything specific there's usually someone who will post it.

    Hello Sudesh,
You are going to have some real problems with that model. I saw your post on GPMA but didn't get a chance to respond. If you need some detail pics I can send them to you off the board.

The Marasca book is OK but it has mostly reprinted photo's. Way overpriced.

As for the build. We just did one for a customer. I can send you pics. The rear suspension will not be strong enough to support the weight of the model. MG made it out of cast metal and its to thin. When we did it we made the suspsnsion out of brass rod. It was the only way. Also the suspension is not measured properly and the rear wheels will not fit on the hubs. The hubs were too short. Also the engine looks toyish. The injector trumpets really need to be reshaped. The body panels did not fit right at all.

If you have the time and patience to fix everything it will still look great. But out of the box its trouble.

    Sincerely,
    Ed

I would go along with the others the 330 book isn't worth the money especially for what you need it for. Regards, Vern

Thanks for the info, looks like you saved me a lot of money!
I looked at the the parts of the kit, and I was already planning on replacing a LOT of the parts, but at least the basics are there......

    Christ,

Have you get the new Kyosho F40 Light tune 1/12?

I am getting mine next week.

I know a store in HK can do the chrome, but I am not sure the quality....

Just had a look at the kit, and the whitemetal parts are..ahem...challenging.
Guess i'll have to call on RB motion for a full rebuild!
