Sound is not quite good When you hear a V12 333SP engine LIVE it is more screaming, more 90s F1 Ferrari.
Is this the same event that Marc Gene supposedly set the track record in the F2004? Apparently the time was 1:05.
it looks like it is sped up, is that really how fast they are? I got a lap time of 1:18 when timing it. Wiki says F1 and track record there about 1:04, so I bet that is real time.
I know I shouldn't say anything. But, when you drive a Skippy car at LS and you have paid the $500 for insurance; well... Look, I know the camera suppresses the picture and this car is really moving; but you have never seen anything until you see a buddy in full four-wheel drift at T2 and he almost, almost, makes it. But he ends up instead smacking the gravel so hard it pulls the tires off the rims. Meanwhile, your bud is laughing his ass off while the Skippy instructors roll their eyes and say a little prayer to the racing gods because Skip does not require them to ride shotgun. My epiphany came one day at TWS. Risi had a track day (back when he did stuff like this), and I was goofing around in my Maranello. The Risi parts guy pointed out that the hood on my car was $11,000. $11,000 for a freaking hood. I then looked around and saw a little Spec Miata and asked how much it cost to buy one of those. Yep, you guessed it, $11,000. I later asked a Spec Miata racer how he liked the car. He said he hated it. I was a bit taken back, but he when on to say, "Look, racing is all about doing your best to destroy a car. So why would you ever race a car you liked?" Wise words. So how much does a 333SP run for now-a-days? $750,000? $1,000,000? Would I be short shifting if I was driving one of these monster around LS? You betcha. Would I be dogging it in T9 and T10? Does a bear squat in the woods? Meanwhile, keep an eye out for those crazies in Skippy cars with $500 insurance. Dale
