I am conteplating on trading in my 06 330i for a 09 335i. I love the milage and apparently has tones of power, very similar to the 335i just one thing it comes only auto but I order the sport pkg which has paddles on the steering wheel. Last year I put about $3000.00 in tires and brakes on my car so I am alittle hesitant on doing the deal. What do you members recommend, I have 102000 km on my 330i so we do alot of driving. 91 octane is about 1.10 lt and disiel is about .97 lt. I get about 560 km to tank on 60 litres of fuel, the 335d claims 900km to 60 Lt. So considering all these factors what should I do, has anyone driven this car?

The diesel is a fantastic car. Feels much quicker off the line than the 335i twin-turbo.

I just picked up my 335d last week, my wife drives it 90% of the time and we had a 06 330i and I'll tell you when ever I get a chance I love driving this machine. Alot of people don't even have a clue about this car but from my experience I,m one happy camper. This car is under rated, I can't wait till next year to hit one of our local tracks. I also get about 180 km more per tank than the 06 330i.

does anyone know or cares for this particular car? It has been dominating in europe for the past 10 years. I guess diesel will never pick up here in North America because it is a shame with the technology that is out there but people just are not aware of it or just don't care about it.

I drove the 09 335 with the twin turbo.
I don't want to step on anyones' toes, but I was completely underwhelmed. For a twin turbo motor, I felt it lacked both feel, and performance. Sorry.
I heard the motor is quite nice in the 135 though.
My friend who was looking, ended up buying an 07 M6 for 60k. The car only had 2500 miles on it, and he paid only 60k. Ton of car for the money.

Considering there are not THAT many diesels out there, I think the 335d is a helluva option. After spending a week with one, I will say that it is a VERY impressive machine.

With over 400 lb-ft of torque the car just continually pulls up and over three digits. It will get you into trouble quickly...

Sound-wise it sounds like a traditional diesel up until about 2.5-3k RPM then it morphs into the classic I-6 BMW sound. It is a brilliant car.

MPG wise I got mid-20s around town and on a long-distance trip I eeked out 34 MPG doing 80+ the whole way.

It is an enthusiastic machine that will definitely put a smile on your face if you have liked the E90 series of BMWs.
