How many owners here are planning to keep their 348/355? and for how long? Just wondering how long would it take for 348/355 to become true collectibles and to reach status of say 246 Dino's of today?? I'm keeping my 355 forever. Just like the ad slogan of Patek Philippe: "You don't actually own one....you merely keep it for the next generation."
I would like to keep mine forever as well !! Though should we drive them???? I love driving mine!! Driving it helps me be in 'tune' with it, then I can refine and sort it to perfection!! Then I will have a perfectly running car that the 'low milers' will not like it simply because of the miles.....
I was at Indy for the race and also for the event at the circle. The 348's were highly admired by everyone. I'm keeping mine and driving it. FYI - there was a guy with a 308 that had 107K on it. He drove it up from Florida for the race.
I vowed to keep my 348 SS forever. Of course, I said that about my 348 Spider and I had it 4.5 years. But I'm pretty sure I'm keeping the SS. Unless, I can get a really good deal on somehting else. Nah, I'll keep it. Maybe I'll add to it. LOL
As for keepability, definite yes. Collectability? They made TEN THOUSAND 348s and I-don't-know-how-many 355s. Way too many cars to be a "rare" car in a collection. So drive it like ya stole it! I'm keepin' my 348.
yes originally the numbers were there- worldwide , but how many are out there now? and how many do you see in classifieds vs 360's ?
They definately dwindle in numbers over time.... I believe at any given time there are over 100 360's for sale on ebay.
Keep anything long enough and it eventually becomes "collectable". I'm not ever planning on getting rid of mine. But you never know. Someone, may one day, make me a monetary offer I just couldn't turn down. But until that day comes it's a keeper and a DRIVER. That is when it's running. LOL!
Sweet!! I've got all my old CHiPs action figures. The smiling Ponch is sure to fetch millions one day -- especially since it has the original hang-tag. Now, I'm looking for this one to complete my collection: Image Unavailable, Please Login
I LOVE my 348 and she will be a keeper! I want to own 3 Ferraris all up, so I have some 'variety' in life. My 348 will be parked beside the other two Ferraris. They made a sh*tload less 348's, than they did 355's, so my guess is that there will be less and less 'good' 348's for sale within the next 10 years or so. Owners will be keeping the 'good' ones. ROCK ON 348's!! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I cant be expected to take photos everytime I drive the bloody car........or can I? You are a hard man to please Vince. The top 2 are my most recent pics from 3 weeks ago and the other 2 are from Xmas last year. Phew...........tough crowd.
PAP, car looks good! did you add spacers to the rears since last Xmas? New photos look much better on those rear wheels.
Thanks mate. 25mm wheel spacers added on rear with new tyres, all wheels repainted and fitted new Ferrari centre caps all round too. All wheels look brand new again. The rear stance looks alot better now, although I have yet to take the car for a good drive to see what wheel spacers are really like. All work was performed around 3-4 weeks ago.
I'm guessing I'll keep it 10+ yrs minimum. I'm a buy and hold type, had my Integra for 10 yrs, still have the Firebird (8 yrs), still have the STi (4 yrs). As for rarity...yes, quite a few 355's were made in total. But when you narrow it down by options / colors / years, the numbers aren't so big. I want to know how many yellow '99 GTB F1's were made with factory fender badges
For a 348/355 to be considered as a collectible car you must wait 10/15 years. The matter is that, because of global warming and pollution originated by fossil fuel combustion engines, nobody knows if todays cars are allowed to be driven on public roads in that future. I think it's going to happen in a few years and in Europe. Just think about an electric silent Ferrari whithout a tubi/capristo....but with thousands of electric gremelins!!!! So, it's better to enjoy our loved F-cars right now.
Yeah, but between him and FBB, they clean the plate! (FBB is subject to eat the plate as well when he gets into a feeding frenzy)
