the 348 & 355, and the older smaller touring cars, are just so much more interesting to me than the new grossly overpowered and HUGE (dimensionally) new cars. They may not handle well, be easy to service, or be terribly fast but they sure do look good.

Really, where can you even drive a scud, 599, or other and actually experience the magic without losing your license? it just doesn't make sense to me if the track is the only place for fun - I do and don't get it I suppose.

348/355, boxy and low, small and purposeful, pretty cool. Prices look good too

I drive my f355 gtb with a group of other guys with scuds,550, 456, 430s, 360s, 348s, 328, 308s, and other modern exotic makes. All are appreciated by the group and most people we come in contact with. It doesn't matter to me that I don't have the most expensive, newest, or fastest car in the group. It's an event in itself being able to drive with other different "works of art". All the guys I drive with get along and hang out even outside of Ferrari stuff. I can't wait until one of the guys will get a 458. I know it won't be me, but I won't mind one bit.

In reality, there is nowhere one can actually use any of the modern semiSupercars anywhere near their limits outside of a race track anyways. You certainly can't use more than 0-60 in 5 seconds without looking for a tiket. You can't use more than 0.8 Gs without looking like you want a ticket. Finally, you can't even get the exhaust vavle open without emitting ticket rendering sounds.

    butcher, great point.

Im in search of genuine and authentic experiences, the newer cars are so incredibly technically but I can't drive em to get it all out....I guess we all agree then ha

Saw a nice blue/tan california this AM while riding home from paradise loop, gave him to tifosi wave and he gave me thumbs up, the guys who own the new cars are cool too

Im hoping for a 355gtb 6spd in next 18 months

You guys are being too soft, say what you really want to say. I was looking forward to this thread as in my opinion the 355 is the best road car ever, I have respect for the new cars but they are way too extreme, too edgy and lack the beauty of the 355.
