I realy love the looks of the 355 but at the moment the prices are a little to high for me. A 348 is more in my price range but I was wondering if a body conversion is possible. Actually I konw it is possible, but need to know if it is cost efficient. What would it typically cost for a 355 front bumper, side intakes, rear valance, and taillight section be... painted. By the time I'm done will my fogasi 355 cost me as much as a real, 95, 96 Berlinetta?

Also can I get an opinion on this car http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=6212&item=4518596006&rd=1
What's the feel on salvage cars? I mean for this car to be a driver, not a collectable.

first i would say WHY? the 348 is a very pretty car and its a 348 not a 355.
second YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.

Buy a 348 enjoy it and when you have saved a little more sell it and buy a 355.

If you will be happy and content in a 348, then do so.

If, indeedly-do, you acquire a 348, don't muck it up.

If you cannot accept that, then wait for a 355.

Actually, you can make your 348 look "pretty much" like a 355 for about $5 grand with no painting. A tail-light conversion from www.garedcars.com, and 355 rims. I guess you could mess with the door panel "single scoop" conversion, but why? I think the 348 looks a whole lot better than the 355 in that regard. The only things about the 348 I don't care for are the tail lights and the wheels, in that order.

As the others said...forget it. Buy the 348 and drive it....or wait another year or two, until prices fall further in line with your financial capabilities. Trying to "convert" a 348 will cost you WAY more (Ferrari parts prices are insane)...and then, when you sell, you will get next to nothing back on what you spent.

I like the 348 with the Veilside add-ons.

I just don't go for those rims. How would the 348 racing speedlines look?

Wouldn't a simpler black 355 light panel be better also?

    I'd lose the wing.
